    by Jurriaan Benschop
»Fürhofer’s boxes are triumphs of illusionism, of ingenuous visual staging. His assemblages allow him to combine various textures and to relate these spatially – in this he has surely been informed by his work as a set designer for the opera.«

The installation was created specifically for the Schirn Rotunda, transforming the circular architecture of the building into an illusionary space. Two spatial situations alternate in a regular, pulse-like rhythm, reflecting the play between the viewers perception and their notion of reality.
